Xenophilia Plays Arco Arena, 5:30 PM Tuesday, 9/9/2008. Black Hole Swallows the Earth: 9/10/2008?

Posted by Xeno on September 7, 2008

Many experiments go wrong. If the Big Bang Machine experiment goes wrong, the entire Earth could disappear in a nanosecond this coming Wednesday, 9/10/2008.

Luckily, this is the day AFTER Xenophilia plays the Arco Arena, in Sacramento CA (as foretold by prophesy 10 years ago) … and the day before the anniversary of the attacks of 9/11, so we will not have to re-live the whole thing again.

So, why not join us. What possible better thing do you have to do on the day before the end of the world? Come see some music and basketball. We have only a handful of special $10 lower level seat tickets left.

Actually, due to the time difference–or someone just running an early test–it may be that as we hit our last chord (even before the basketball game begins)… right as we hit our last A11th chord, THAT is when it will happen. We will all vanish, painlessly and instantly, and nothing that ever happened on the Earth will have mattered.

If we all survive and the experiment goes right, however, we might understand how the entire universe was created.

The most powerful physics experiment ever built, the Large Hadron Collider will re-create the conditions just after the Big Bang in an attempt to answer fundamental questions of science and the universe itself.

On September 10th, CERN - the largest centre of particle physics research in the world, will switch on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and in the process begin arguably the most ambitious science experiment ever undertaken. This “Big Bang Machine” will recreate conditions just a billionth of a second after the big bang and in the process may answer some of the most profound questions about our universe and how it all began.

By smashing particles together at speeds 99.99% the speed of light, scientists hope to answer some of the greatest mysteries in particle physics. What is mass? What is dark matter - the invisible but massive substance that fills the universe? Why is there no antimatter ? Are extra dimensions and parallel universes science fact rather than science fiction? - bbc

Personally, before the end, I had hoped for a big discovery, like one of the following being shown to definitely exist: Aliens, bigfoot, chupacabras, or cold fusion. What have I been doing to prepare to be consumed by a black hole? Cleaning mostly. You?

Here is a bit of trivia. What is a hadron?

In particle physics, a hadron … is a bound state of quarks. Hadrons are held together by the strong nuclear force, similar to how atoms are held together by the electromagnetic force. The best-known hadrons are protons and neutrons. - wiki

In case I don’t see you at the show, so long. We had fun, didn’t we? Thanks for reading my blog.

PS. Perhaps we will all emerge in another universe as we are ejected from a white hole somewhere.

Four unreleased Xenophilia songs discovered

Posted by Xeno on July 10, 2008

Albert, Amy, and I were working on some a new CD before he went off to find work in another part of the world. Thanks to the magic of MySpace, I found that he has posted some of our work under the name Satellite Dish Gazebo. The ones I wrote are: Mister Nobody, Salvador Dali, Kiss you on the Moon, and Get Off My Head.

New: Free song from today’s Xenophilia rehearsal

Posted by Xeno on March 10, 2008

Our next show is March 21 @ Luna’s Cafe in Sacramento, CA.

Come on down if you are in the area. Luna’s has food and beverages and a nice cozy atmosphere.

Free Song Here (Day Dream Believer by Xenophilia - MP3)

This is a first take attempt at Daydream Believer, a song composed by John Stewart shortly before he left the Kingston Trio.

We had to do this song of course because it has the great line, “Cheer up sleepy Xeno”.

For those comparison shopping looking for sound samples, this was recorded outdoors with an Olympus DS-30 digital recorder.

Song is played on Xeno’s slightly out of tune 12-string Takamine acoustic guitar.

Pete the drum scientist is playing Amy’s Djimbe.

I used the Jodix free WMA to MP3 converter to get these into MP3 format and then used Audacity to add a fade in.

My Sacramento Burlesque Show Audition

Posted by Xeno on October 30, 2006

Tonight Amy Anne and I auditioned for a new Burlesque show that is opening up in Old Sacramento at a club called the SpeakEasy Lounge. Here are some pics of the dance floor, the DJ, some people who auditioned with us tonight and myself and Amy. Click to enlarge:

We’ve actually done something like this before. Amy and I played one time at the Derby in 2003 in Hollywood (pics) with the Velvet Hammer Burlesque group when we were working with the “I Can’t Believe it’s Not Comedy” troupe. This new show opens in December or January and everyone is thinking it will play to packed audiences.

Bin Laden ‘9/11 video’ broadcast

Posted by Xeno on September 7, 2006

Compare the noses of Osama. One has a shorter fatter nose. The original Osama (Tim Osman) has a hecka long skinny nose. The real Osama supposedly entered Pakistan the day after 9/11 and died later from Kidney failure. The theory is: Bush knows his business partner and 9/11 patsy expired which is why years ago he said he’s not concerned about Bin Laden. UPDATE 9/10/06: In code words, one might say the trail in seaching for Bin Laden was “stone cold“.

Arabic TV channel Al-Jazeera has broadcast what it says is unseen footage of Osama Bin Laden meeting some 00008cb90b2.jpg of the 9/11 hijackers.

The channel said it showed al-Qaeda leaders “preparing for the attacks and practising their execution”.

Bin Laden is seen walking outdoors in a mountainous area wearing a dark robe and white head gear.

The broadcast came four days before the fifth anniversary of the 11 September 2001 attacks. - bbc

What they should do is have Guiliani personally capture one of their fake Osamas as he is attempting to paint a black eye on the Statue of Liberty… right before the elections. They could then have “Osama” say whatever they wanted. Keep all reporters but their own away due to the “intense security concerns.” We got him! He admits everything! He and Saddam were secretly lovers and they hid Saddam’s WMDs in Osama’s mysterious expandable nose! And so on…

Free Music MP3: Xeno covers Paul Simon. 3rd Take, Remix, Backing Vocals Added

Posted by Xeno on September 7, 2006

xenoatexploratorium1.jpg9/7/06 Update: My latest version of Paul Simon’s “I am a Rock”.

Did you ever watch that show where a guy with a funny accent paints a picture? Well, if you downloaded my previous sketches, you can think of this as watching me paint a song. Gets a little better each time… I hope.

All versions were recorded direct to disk on my laptop using free software called Audacity (1.3.0 beta) and some light reverb effects.

I sold my bass guitar a while back, so I’m playing the part of the bass by shifting my voice down an octave.

This is a complete remake of the previous test version. I added some crazy super fast guitar and backup singers… They still need work ;-)

New: the Xenophilia (band) Wikipedia Entry

Posted by Xeno on August 26, 2006

I wonder how long this Wikipedia Entry will stay up? I did a search and found that Xenophilia had some description of Japanese cartoon tentacle pornography. Man, that’s so gross. SO, I updated it and now you people can learn a few new things, things never before told even on this web site … ooh, ah.
