Urban Farm Tour: Berkeley, CA

Yesterday we toured several urban farms in the Berkeley area. The price of the tour was $5 per small farm, but this is nothing when you consider the practical knowledge you can gain to grow your own food. Some of these collectives are growing enough food to feed 6 families. One urban farmer said about half of her food is home grown. This is especially impressive considering that the gardens we saw would fit in most back yards.
