The Maui vacation continues. This is a great place to be in January and I’m enjoying being out in nature. So far, I’ve lost a rental car key, a mask and a snorkel to different South Maui beaches… My fiancée laughed her top off as I came up out of a monster wave with no mask and only the mouthpiece in my mouth. ($150) I got pounded to the bottom and scraped up by the sand. Respect the waves.

WordPress wants to charge $99 to let me upload my own video to my own blog… Which makes some sense because they have to host it and maintain servers. WordPress allows free YouTube videos in blogs, and if the YouTube video upload from the iPhone worked, I could add video.
Instead I get a “failed to publish” message over and over after trying everything else I’ve read: log out and log back in to your YouTube account, use Wifi instead of 3G network, log in to the web site and get the publish by email address… No luck.
Anyone know the real solution to this?

Getting up at 4:30 am and leaving Wailea by 5:00 am, we just barely made it for the 6:38 am sunrise. I thought I was giving us more than 45 min buffer time, but no… Tip: If you want to see the amazing sunrise on the volcano on Maui, don’t trust wunderground.com for the correct sunrise time. That unofficial web site for Haleakala National Park said sunrise was at 7:02 am today. Wrong! When we paid our $10 to get into the park, the correct sunrise time was posted at the pay station. Luckily, we just made it. Some photos below.
