Harry Potter Question

The final Harry Potter movie was fantastic, very satisfying. I do wish Xeno Lovegood would have been there for the final fight, of course. Many lose ends were tied up, but there was one thing I now want to go re-read in the last book to understand. I don’t think this question will be a spoiler: We see Harry drop the stone, so how did it work on him?

Ok, got it. I found a web page that is a walkthrough of the entire last movie with explanations, and Harry did not use the stone. He just had the option because he deserved the option and he took it. Hmmm.
