I’m enjoying working on an original Burlesque show “Le Slip De Vol” which will open in Old Sacramento in January. The talent is great and I’m excited about working on original music with some other amazing musicians. ( Early music explorations for this show have a Cirque du Soleil vibe, very different than any of the music in this video. ) This “behind the scenes” video shows a few of the cast members warming up and trying some different things as we get in shape to knock some socks off. Want to come see our show?

Mental Secret: How to believe anything
Posted by Xeno on November 11, 2006
I liked this comment from author and researcher Mark Robert Waldman about the “Speaking in Tongues” news article I blogged a few days ago:
“The longer you focus on any concept, other parts of the brain will respond as if that idea was objectively real. Focus on peace, you become more peaceful; focus on your anger, and your anger will feel justified and real. If you believe in God, God eventually becomes real. So be careful about what you believe!”

Should 10 Year Olds Visit 9/11 Conspiracy Websites? They did on South Park.
Posted by Xeno on November 11, 2006
In some schools and libraries web sites that give the “inside job” view of 9/11 are being censored by content filters. A kid was taken out of class for “looking at terrorist stuff” when he visited Infowars.com.
Let’s assume the official story is true and the amazing coincidences surrounding 9/11 are just coincidences. Let’s say also that David Shayler (video) is wrong.
“Former MI5 agent David Shayler, who previously blew the whistle on the British government paying Al Qaeda $200,000 to carry out political assassinations, has gone on the record with his conviction that 9/11 was an inside job meant to bring about a permanent state of emergency in America and pave the way for the invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq and ultimately Iran and Syria.” – prisonplanet

In that case, the conspiracy theorists have it wrong. Sure, the CIA may try to place agents into Al Qaeda, but that doesn’t mean that created Al Qaeda itself or that they are still running it as a secret a black op for political purposes. Also, the 84% of Americans who do not believe the Govt. about 9/11 are completely wrong. In that case, what criteria would we used to ban such web sites? Would we ban all sites that use correct and verifiable information to reach wrong conclusions? Careful there.
Below is a video of Alex Jones talking to the boy. If the 9/11 conspiracy is true, then we need this sort of thing, right? If the official story is true, however, then is Jones guilty of anything more than reaching wrong conclusions based on available evidence and acting to use free speech according to his conscience? It seems to me the parents should decide and the boy’s father seems to have no problem with the Alex Jones show.

School safety drill upsets some parents
Posted by Xeno on November 11, 2006
A school safety drill that included police officers in riot gear with weapons has caused concern among some parents who say it was too realistic and frightened some students.
Police in the western Michigan community of Wyoming entered two classrooms at Lee Middle and High School on Thursday and announced there was a threat to the school, The Grand Rapids Press reported.
Students, who were unaware police were conducting a drill, were taken from the classroom into the halls, patted down by officers and asked what they had in their pockets, the newspaper said.
“Some of these kids were so scared, they just about wet their pants,” said Marge Bradshaw, a parent with four children in Godfrey-Lee Schools. “I think it’s pure wrong that the students and parents were not informed of this.”
Officers wore protective gear, including vests and helmets, and carried rifles that were unloaded and marked with colored tape to indicate they were not live weapons, the newspaper said. – ap

Manufacturer Recalls Millions of Bottles of Acetaminophen
Posted by Xeno on November 11, 2006
A large drug manufacturer recalled 383 lots ? or 11 million bottles ? of the pain medication acetaminophen today after discovering that metal fragments contaminated some pills.
Perrigo Co. said it discovered the metal fragments, which ranged in size from “microdots” to portions of wire one-third of an inch in length, during quality-control checks. FDA officials said there is little reason for concern.
“We believe there is only a remote likelihood of serious consequences from the use of these products,” said Dr. Douglas Throckmorton, deputy director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.
“The thing physicians would be most concerned about would be bleeding as a result of metal coming into contact with the gastrointestinal tract,” he explained. “We believe the possibility of that happening is remote.” – abcnews
Always look at what they aren’t saying. What is this mysterious metal? Gold is safe, but mercury isn’t.? Both are metals. Other most toxic metals include: Arsenic, Beryllium, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, and Lead.

One-eyed monster storm seen on Saturn
Posted by Xeno on November 11, 2006
It looks like an eerie, polar hurricane ? but doesn?t act like one.
A freaky storm two-thirds the diameter of Earth and unlike anything ever seen before has been spotted on Saturn.
The tempest, some 5,000 miles wide (8,000 kilometers), has an oddly human-looking, hurricane-style eye. But it is very different from a terrestrial hurricane, scientists said Thursday.
NASA’s Cassini spacecraft photographed the huge storm. It swirls with 350 mph (560 kilometer-per-hour) winds at the ringed planet’s south pole. It has a remarkably well-defined eye, ringed by clouds that soar 20 to 45 miles high (30 to 75 kilometers), or up to five times taller than hurricane clouds on Earth.

Brazilian Woman Survives 6 Shots to Head
Posted by Xeno on November 11, 2006
A woman was released from the hospital a day after she was shot in the head six times in an attack police blamed on her ex-husband, Brazilian media reported Saturday.
Patricia Goncalves Pereira, a 21-year-old housewife, was shot Friday after an altercation with her ex-husband, who was upset because she refused to get back together with him, Globo TV reported.
“I know this was a miracle,” Pereira told the TV network. “Now I just want to extract the bullets and live my life.”
Doctors could not explain how Pereira survived the attack. The .32-caliber bullets didn’t break through her skull and didn’t even need to be immediately extracted, doctors said. Pereira also was shot once in the hand.
Police said the ex-husband was still at large, Globo TV reported. – forbes
Cat Stevens, writer of the song, “I’m looking for a hard headed woman“, was unavailable for comment. Neither was Claude Demetrius who wrote the other hard headed woman song, the one made popular by Elvis.
